Justice Chowdhury enrolled as an Advocate of the District Court, the High Court Division,and the Appellate Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court in the years 1974, 1977,and 1992 respectively.He was elevated as an Additional Judge of the High Court Division on03.07.2001 and was appointed as a Judge of the same Division on 03.07.2003.As part of his duties, he has attended the international conference of the Chief Justices of the World held in India in 2006. He has also visited Nepal and South Korea as part of a judicial delegation. He retired as the senior-most judge of the High Court Division in 2015. In 2016, he was enrolled as a Senior Advocate and continued his practice before the appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh (i.e., the apex court of Bangladesh).In addition to his active legal practice, he has served as an arbitrator in numerous local and international arbitrations in the area of insurance, building, and real estate disputes. Mr.Chowdhury obtained a B.A. and LL.B. from the University of Dhaka.
